charger arrived very quickly. However, it came with instructions to charge the charger once (no time frame), then run it down completely 3-5 times, recharging between. When I called the vendor, I was told that the initial charge should be at least 12 hours. I was also told that the depletion of the charger shouldn't go below 10-15%. I have never been told to do this with a new computer (but perhaps they do it before shipping the machine). Each time we attempted to follow this procedure, the computer itself said that doing so would reduce charger life. I honestly don't know which is correct, but we have done the partial depletion 4 times now and sincerely hope that the process IMPROVED rather than REDUCED charger life!
